The #9billion naira fear (Nigeria)

This hashtag started trending on twitter and other social networks around Nigeria. so many wonders what the buzz is all about, but considering the number of times the Nigerian populace has been taken to the cleaners by their leaders, in terms of outrageous allowances been allocated unnecessarily to public figures, one would understand if alarms were raised at the sound of #9billion naira been allocated to the federal law-makers as wardrobe allowances.
The sound of it unearths emotions or the feeling of dejavous that were meant to be bueried at the bottom of our subconscious history. The feeling of "what should be forgotten with jonathan" is now becoming visible with Buhari. The feeling of "our stress to oust jonathan is completely counting for nothing" this crop of people has started showing signs of corruption once again. The feeling of "our dreams of owning our country and not to be owned by some politicians" is gradually depleting under our watchful eyes. The feeling of "lost of confidence in the possibilities of the suffering or hardship caused by Jonathan's cluelessness" wearing away at the shortest possible period.
What if we are right? What if the trend called corruption is fixed within our DNA and we can't help but be corrupt at the slightest opportunity?  What if this set of government officials are worst than those under Jonathan? What if so many contracts that are to be signed should be more crooked than those under jonathan? What if the $20 billion that was missing under jonathan is nothing compared to what we are about to witness under Buhari's Government? What if we are not even meant to be a developed country and corruption is installed as the actualiser of that aspect of our national destiny? What if, what if, what if and ..................what if's? On and on we can go wondering.
Fellow compatriots, we are a country of people living withing the circle of fear and distrust, we lived with the fear of even seeing good things happen.
What can be worst than having our children going to bed every night on empty stomachs without hope for even a meal tomorrow? What can be worst than walking along our streets with the fear of been kidnapped or be rubbed of our belongings? What can be worst than having the chunk of our national budget allocated to the power sector (with total blackout) that practically turned out to be one huge fraud? What can be worst than living with death at the back of our minds, not knowing where and when the next bomb is going to go off, with a clueless government also lost on what to do about it? What can be worst than not giving a chance for change to germinate and bear the fruits of assurances and absolute security for the future of our children? Under the past Government, the amount earned in salaries and allowances by David mack and cohorts were a misery to you and I and we lived with it. The sense of been involved in the affairs of the governing of the country is what men like me would propagate at any giving time.
Transparency should not be met by disgruntled gestures and utterances. It should be met by contentment and appreciation, we should give this change a chance, because the people's General can not be taken for a ride, so within the mean time, we must assume, he is in total control and to the fairest level, he'll lead our country out of this mess.
