REASONS WHY NIGERIA POLITICIANS ARE NOT NIGERIANS

Any responsible head of a house has no excuse for not putting his house in order, does he? To fix your house's drainages and creating a blissful landscape to suit you and the members of your house-hold if you have the means is not something you'll think twice about, is it? And ultimately, making your house a home and calling it your personal abode is never thought about twice, is it?            The so called ruling class and the leaders of this great country Nigeria are not Nigerians, my reasons are not from Jupiter, my reasons are all over our cities and towns, they are all over our living standard and infrastructures, they are all over our education and security, they are all over our constitution and politics, infact, they are all over their manners of governance, THIS PEOPLE ARE NOT NIGERIANS.    If your sense of responsibility and patriotism to your family is of the desirable standard, the standard of living and the social well-being of the members you are heading becomes your utmost priority, the beauty and the improvement in the life of the people would become your source of pride and fulfillment, that makes you a member of the house and responsible head of the household.      Let us apply this simple logical resolution to the ways in which our country Nigeria is been run, a responsible member of a household doesn't run away because his roof licks when it rains, he doesn't run because his house is on fire, he stays and patch it, or the worst, anybody in a fair psychological state would not set his own house on fire, this leaders are not Nigerians, the logic is simple, I’ll begin with the aspect of provision of infrastructures like schools and hospitals, if the house you built is of the required standard, why running to take shelter in that of your neighbours  when it rains, they don't patronize our schools and hospitals because they know the standard is below par of the standards obtainable overseas, the sick amongst our leaders would go abroad to enjoy what other leaders that meant well for their home and country provided and this services would never come cheap, our hospitals can't treat them, but it can treat the rest of us, our schools can't lecture their children, but it can lecture the rest of us, we are more Nigerian than they are and posterity would judge that.      The living standard of our people is never  their priority as any outgoing government would run the treasury aground before moving on, they are not Nigerians because our common struggles and shame is not what they are part of, their main aim of been in power is to better and improve the lots of their family by looting and the rest of us can die for all they care, the ruthless ways in which they rip the economy apart for their selfish gains can only be compared to a country been ruled arbitrarily by foreigners.    Another area which they have proven that they are not Nigerians is the area of policy making, their selfishness is written all over our constitution, the areas that concerns them in our constitution are shackled by one immunity clause after another they are foreigners because Nigerian laws can't govern them, the protection they have against our laws can only be compared to a computer firewalls where it is only permeable if the policies and settings allows it, they are too protected to be questioned even after their time is up from office, the level of power they absorb while serving can still victimize our constitution even outside political offices, pathetic!.      Another reason why I can call them foreigners is the manner in which they play politics, it can only be characterized by ruthlessness and high level of danger for the citizens that makes up the polity, by this I mean, a man that means well for his country would not polarize them dangerously against each other for his selfish gains and influences, the diversity of this country is so beautiful, with love and tolerance we can move mountains, because this diversity in our culture, tradition and believe should be our strength, it is never and would never be a course, Nigeria is a marriage that must work if we all pull our strength together, sadly, this politicians that I termed foreigners are the main enemies of this sweet recipe in our existence as one nation, during elections, the country is polarized dangerously along religious and tribal lines, thus creating a favorable terrain for unhealthy and ruthless popularity contexts. The aftermath of this context is characterized by absolute disunity and intolerance among the various ethnic groups, they would be a growth in the fear and believe that the existence or leadership of one undermines that of the other, resentment takes control and the resultant consequence is the origin of the house on fire, they'll live us as a house divided against itself, let us pray Nigerians never one day degerates into killing each other, because the architects and those foreigners would be no where to be found.By comrade YAKUBU O YAKUBUOnline social activist, political analystBased in AbujaFollow me on twitter @yakey85
