THE PDP AND THE CHRONICLES OF THE PVC CARD READER

If our victory celebration is to go the whole nine yards, the voter smart card reader and the INEC authentication machine should be crowned the gadget of the year by Nigerians, the political ill health and the unending fowl cries by the citizens was also vindicated and authenticated by this same card reader, the political reality and the ballad of the dead that pays the ultimate price for their falsehood over the years is also not forgotten, telling a lie now would look like a broad day murder under the watchful eyes of the passersby, to have the world standing as witnesses against you means that you are guilty as charged.
First off, the presidency would course the day they allowed the INEC chairman professor Attahiru Jega the opportunity for a second tenure and conducting a second election in succession, kudos to Mr Jonathan, even the devil would’ve sensed that from his body language, he was not going to cooperate, run it by the book of the PDP and make it a business as usual, he was defiant from the word go, his emphasis on the use of the PVC and the card reader for voters figure authentication was evidence that the kind of election we’ve yearn for over the years is finally coming to fruition.
It is not in doubt that we have highly placed political casualties in our system right now, but in any political system where the people wins, no matter how highly placed you are, loosing is part of the game and pleas decide to take it on the shin and move on, such is life.

For the politicians, election is just a game, but for the ordinary, it is a dicey shot at destiny, like giving a complete stranger a loaded gun but with the faith that he doesn’t kill you or like giving somebody the right to destroy you but trusting him not to do so, it is painful to the people when the voted is driven aground by the unpopular, the polity would be pained and overtaken by liars, falseful praise singing and saboteurs, hypocrisy would render the man in power delusional and the running of the country would be in the hands of tyrants and arbitrary rulers with little interest in national cohesion and existence, the country is doomed to fail in such status.
Everything was thrown to sabotage the use of the card reader to no avail, moves that could be termed as moving the goal post in the middle of the match was made, litigations against jega and the card reader flooded our courts in style, the card reader was constitutional and the existence of Jega was statutory, the days of shame beckons and the cry “jega must go” became louder by the day, it was WE against THEM with Professor Attahiru Jega as the umpire, a fair one at that, he was courageous in the thick of the action, he stood his ground even when the mighty and the powerful have their mighty eyeballs threatening the living daylight out of him, the prof, the card reader and the people prevails, we made our choices and for the first time in our history we are crowned the winners.
