OUR OWN SIDE OF THE STORY

When they call the media 'a voice', it isn't a mere gain saying, it is the voice for the voiceless, the voice for the oppressed and ultimately the voice for the downtrodden, the power wielded by the media can not be over emphasized, it can break and rebuild, also creates or destroys.
The media as an entity coming through history has been used in different ways, but the modern day media is often used by the affluent in our societies to dish out propaganda to who ever cares to listen, it is more like an entity designed to praise or feed the egos of the top ranked in any society, the media is often used as tools for lies and character assassination in modern days politics thus pushing it to loose its original face and the credibility perceived of it by the people, the television for instance often airs programme that are paid and well sponsored and the man with the money tells how it is spent, growing up, I would groan in utter agony, very loud I would scream to my mother saying "they took over our lives now they have taken over our screens, we can't even watch football matches or nollywood movies"    all we see is praise singing for the president looking good and approving imaginary projects that can only be made real in our dreams, our stories are never told, we are like the residence of the back of the fence of our society, often not heard, often left to wallow, we sink in our own thoughts and wonder what we must do to put an end to this torture.
Not having a voice is worst than been in chains, not having a voice make you a slave, no having a voice lives you with no stories, not having a voice give them rooms to brand you how they like, not having a voice should break you down in tears and not let down your guards when you see them. From the show they put up you'll know there's a plan in the kitty for their children to continue from where they stopped when their days are over.
The social media is their worst nightmare, according to an A.I.T presenter during the 2015 presidential election, he refers to the twitter as been used in the same fashion as the Radio Rwanda that led to mass killings amounting to a genocide in 1994, that's rather been unfair and callous to the younger society.
The social media is an opportunity to tell our own side of the story, it is a lift the ruling class might not like, it is the true voice of the lost children, it is the voice of the forgotten generation, it creates a face for the faded pictures and a breath of life for the dead and the hopeless, the social media is our friend and too bad our phones are part of our lives, we plan and execute our plans unanimously, politically and otherwise, it is on the social media we decide who is the next president, on this our darling platform we are able to weigh our options together and execute our unanimous plans that would live them in total disarray and disappointment.
Our unity is their doom, our unity gives us a louder voice, unity in our diversity gives us the most needed synergy,  it is only by unity we are to stand as giants in the presence of our oppressors,, with the social media we can reachout  sharply to our targeted audience around the universe, with our social media unity we can tell the world our own side of the story.
     Fellow Nigerians
    Stay united.
